ENGLEWOOD – Broncos coach Sean Payton has called Evan Engram the “Joker” he has coveted for the offense. The tight end has another way to describe himself.
“I like to call myself a ‘Cleaner,’’’ Engram said Thursday after Denver concluded organized team activities with a practice at Broncos Park.
Engram, a two-time Pro Bowl selection who signed a two-year, $23 million contract in March, explained what he means by that.
“(I’m) a guy who will come in every single day and do what he is asked at the highest level possible, a guy who will embrace adversity and embrace challenges, but also bring a great amount of energy, bring leadership even in those times of adversity and humbleness in times of success,’’ Engram said. “I want to earn everything that is going to come my way.”
