CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - A Cedar Falls woman admitted to shooting her husband on Wednesday evening. But a criminal complaint says she only did that after he came after her. Given that claim, Iowa’s “Stand Your Ground” law might come into play in this case.
“What those trigger are, at trial, jury instructions at court if they deem necessary to say here are what the rules are in the circumstances,” said criminal defense attorney Tom Viner.
He says Iowa’s “Stand Your Ground” law allows people to use deadly force in certain situations.
