The Mesa City Council voted 7-0 to approve an intergovernmental agreement with Mesa Gateway Airport to provide aircraft fire rescue services during its June 2 meeting.
The proposed agreement will last for three years with a two additional one year renewal periods. According to council documents, the agreement will allow the Mesa Fire and Medical Departments to continue providing rescue and fire fighting services to the Mesa Gateway Airport.
City officials in documents did not put a cost on providing the service to the airport. The item was approved as part of the city’s consent agenda, where multiple items are passed with one vote.
