GRAHAM, N.C. — A former high school teacher and assistant coach was arrested for sexual contact with a student on Thursday, June 6, according to the Graham Police Department.
Police began investigating the incident on May 29, when they identified Nicholas Anders, 52, as the suspect.
Anders was arrested and charged with Felony Taking Indecent Liberties with a Student. He was also charged with soliciting a prostitute.
Anders was a teacher and assistant athletic director at Southern Alamance High School at the time of the incident. He resigned on May 30, according to an official with Alamance-Burlington Schools.
He was hired in 2005 and held several positions at Southern Alamance, including a CTSO advisor, Assistant Lacrosse Coach, Weightlifting Coach, JV Volleyball Coach, Assistant Track
