JACKSONVILLE, Texas (KETK) - Following the severe storms in Jacksonville on Wednesday, the city is now looking to regroup after the roads were significantly damaged.

According to Kelly Traylor, the Cherokee County Commissioner of Precinct 1, Jacksonville received four and a half inches of rain during a two-hour period. Due to the amount of rain the city received in such a short period, significant flooding occurred across the city, causing severe damage to multiple roads.

Traylor also stated that at least five residents were stuck inside their homes due to the flooding and crews were forced to work until 2 a.m. Thursday morning to create a safe pathway for residents to drive from their houses.
