An art gallery in downtown Selma is featuring the work of a Gee’s Bend quilter.

Cathy Mooney comes from a proud line of Gee’s Bend quilters.

Her “Stitched Up” exhibit will be on display at Gallery 905 for the next two months.

The opening reception for the exhibit is Thursday night from 5:30 to 7.

The exhibit offers a fresh take on quilt-making — turning scraps of fabric into works of art.

“And we are so excited to have this exhibit come in,” said Gallery 905 Director Sarah Wagoner.

“It’s free to the public and we would love everyone all around especially our Black Belt friends come and appreciate Black Belt art.”

Gallery 905 is open Tuesday through Friday from 11 am to 4 pm. It’s also open on Saturday from 10 am to 2 pm during the month of June.
