PEORIA ( 25News Now ) - After a two-day trial, a jury found a man guilty in a 2023 armed robbery and shooting that left the victim with wounds, the Peoria County State’s Attorney said Thursday.

The jury spent less than 10 minutes deliberating before they convicted 28-year-old Drakar K. Munoz, the suspect in the armed robbery and shooting.

According to the State Attorney’s office, the incident happened on Aug. 15, 2023, at about 3 a.m., when police were called to the 1700 block of N. Great Oak in Peoria.

Officers arrived and found four shell casings but no victims. They then learned a gunshot wound victim was headed to a hospital in the area.
