Throughout Jim Harbaugh’s tenure as Michigan’s head coach, running the football was a primary emphasis on offense. The Wolverines’ run-first approach continued last season under first-year head coach Sherrone Moore, although coaches and players have touted a more pass-happy attack entering 2025 under new coordinator Chip Lindsey.

However, with Michigan’s offensive identity revolving around its run game for the past decade, it’s no surprise its recruiting success at receiver has waned.

Of the program’s top eight receiver recruits of the internet era (post-1999), only one was a part of the previous 10 recruiting classes. Despite this trend, Michigan has still reeled in some elite talent at the position since the 2016 class.
