“Most people don’t realize the government does not buy the equipment for hospitals. They pay, really, less than 10 per cent for that. They pay for the staff, the building, the operating expenses, but things like hospital beds, CT scanners, ventilators, those are some of the things that we’ve been raising money for and we’re only able to purchase them with money raised with these types of events,” said Graham Martin, executive director of the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation.
