With one day left in the school year, the Washoe County School District has not released information about the number of students suspended and banned from the graduation ceremony after a break-in and vandalism at Reno High.
Videos posted to social media show young people, many masked, spray-painting the walls with obscenities and smashing windows, TVs and trophy cases on the night of May 22. At least one swastika and racial slur were painted on the walls and floor.
The district said multiple students involved in the vandalism were told on May 29 that they could no longer participate in the June 11 graduation ceremony. The district has not said how many students were involved or suspended, citing privacy concerns.
