COLUMBUS, Ohio — A woman was seriously injured in a shooting in west Columbus on Thursday evening, police said.

Officers with the Columbus Division of Police were called to the 600 block of Wedgewood Drive , near the Wedgewood Village Apartments, around 8 p.m. on a reported shooting.

Arriving officers located the woman suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. She was taken to Grant Medical Center in critical condition.

During an investigation, information led detectives to believe the shooting occurred during a domestic dispute.

Police identified 29-year-old Tyvaughn Nelson as a suspect. He is charged with felonious assault in connection to the shooting.
