The body of a 16-year-old male was recovered from the Missouri River near Poplar on Thursday, according to a press release from the Fort Peck Tribal Law Enforcement.
The victim, who has not yet been named, was reportedly driving on BIA Route 1 Tuesday and entered the river after going into the south ditch and through a fence.
On Wednesday the area was searched with sonar equipped boats provided by the Williams County (North Dakota) Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue Team. According to the Thursday press release, the victim’s vehicle was located near a private residence south of BIA Route 1.
