The Chicago White Sox plan to call up catching prospect Kyle Teel to the major-league club Friday, a source confirmed to the Tribune.

Teel is the No. 2 prospect in the Sox system and No. 26 in all of baseball , according to MLB.com rankings. He is hitting .295 with eight home runs and 30 RBIs in 50 games for Triple-A Charlotte.

Teel on Monday was named White Sox minor-league player of the month. He had a .333/.444/.613 slash line with six doubles, five home runs, 14 RBIs, 15 walks, 16 runs and a 1.057 OPS in 22 games in the month.
