CANYON, Texas (KFDA) - Both senior William Amponsah and freshman Abigail Abugire have had incredible cross country and track seasons this year, and continue to rack up awards in the off season.

Amponsah was not only named the USTFCCCA D2 Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year on Thursday, but also named the 2025 Lone Star Conference Men’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year earlier in the week.

The Ghana native ends his career as a Buff with five national championship titles individually (two in cross country, three in outdoor track).

He is also an eight-track All-American.

Abugire was named the 2025 Lone Star Conference Female Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year earlier in the week for her efforts during the season.
