CHILLICOTHE, OH — Two local women are facing a series of theft charges after a Chillicothe Police investigation linked them to a string of shoplifting incidents at the Walmart on North Bridge Street dating back to March.
According to police reports, officers were dispatched to the store on June 4 in response to a call from Walmart’s loss prevention team, who had detained two women suspected of attempting to steal nearly $290 worth of merchandise. Items in the attempted theft included fishing equipment, men’s shorts, jeans, and various other goods.
Surveillance footage and internal store investigations revealed that the suspects had allegedly been involved in at least seven separate incidents involving theft, concealment, and switching price tags to pay less for higher-priced merchandi
