COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — Brian Steel , president of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge No. 9 , joined President Trump and other union leaders Thursday in Washington, D.C., to discuss measures to enhance law enforcement safety amid rising violence against officers.

Steel emphasized the urgency of finding solutions to protect officers, citing recent incidents such as the shooting of two Mifflin Township police officers by Daveonte Dixon and the fatal shooting of Morrow County Deputy Daniel Weston Sherrer .

"Anytime we lose an officer, it's not just a community losing an officer. It's the United States losing an officer," Steel said.
