BELVIDERE, Ill. (WTVO) — United Auto Workers union Vice President Kevin Gotinsky told members that Stellantis has selected a lead launch coordinator to bring back Belvidere's Chrysler Assembly Plant on Thursday.
Teams are also walking through the plant to determine what upgrades will be needed before opening.
This development comes shortly after the company announced that Antonio Filosa was appointed as the CEO of Stellantis.
Gotinsky informed union workers that layoffs have decreased by over 800 members from the beginning of February to the start of June.
