CHARLESTON, W.Va (WCHS) — Charleston Job Corps student David Scott said when he first heard the news that the future of Job Corps was uncertain he felt worried and rushed, but with the temporary restraining order put in place by a federal judge on Wednesday allowing operations to continue he feels like a weight has been lifted.
"This upcoming week I should be getting my driver's license," Scott said. "So I should be almost done but with that pause I now have more time to dedicate to getting it."
On May 29, the United States Department of Labor announced it would begin pausing operations at Job Corps centers across the nation. Administrative Assistant for Programs Tierah Williams said she hopes with the closings put on pause it will shine a light on how impactful the work Job Corps does
