At North Carolina you could say Kane Kepley is "king", but he didn't start out that way.
"Lot of twists and turns," The UNC centerfielder said of his journey to Chapel Hill. "Not a lot of looks out of high school."
The Salisbury, NC native began his college career as a walk on at Liberty. When his head coach Scott Jackson left to become an assistant at Carolina before this season, Kepley followed suit.
"I grew up a Tar Heel fan my whole life and once I heard he wasn't going to be the head coach at Liberty anymore that was the driving force for me to get in the portal," Kepley said. "I was going to stay there with coach Jackson, I was loyal to him, he gave me the first chance to play college baseball."
