Only These 4 Days, You Don't Need an Illinois Fishing License

Four special days are coming up in June when the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) is allowing you to cast a line without a license.

No License Needed to Cast a Line for Four Days

The IDNR has announced that anyone can fish without needing a license, trout stamp, or salmon stamp from June 13 through 16 during Free Fishing Days across Illinois.

According to the press release, the goal during these "free days" is to encourage new anglers to try the sport and help experienced fishermen introduce the joy of fishing to children.
