BURLINGTON, Mass. —

Shortly after a Milford, Massachusetts, student was released from an ICE detention facility, two U.S. representatives toured the building, concerned about its conditions.

U.S. Reps. Jake Auchincloss and Seth Moulton took a tour of the ICE holding facility in Burlington after the release of Marcelo Gomes da Silva.

Gomes da Silva, 18, was detained by ICE agents on May 31 while driving his father's car on his way to volleyball practice.

After his release, Gomes da Silva detailed his six-day experience in the Burlington facility.

“Sometimes our lunch and dinner would be crackers. And I would share with the people there because they're like, oh, 35-year-old men who have kids, and obviously, you know, like they eat more than I do. So, I gave them food. I shared with them
