MARTINSBURG – A new internship program at Habitat for Humanity of the Eastern Panhandle has given the organization a new member for the summer, and he’s already having a big impact on the local nonprofit.

Community Works, a social services organization that Habitat for Humanity is a part of, had a similar program around 10 years ago that leaders at Habitat for Humanity have been hoping to get back.

Robin Kees, executive director of Habitat for Humanity of the Eastern Panhandle, has fond memories of the program and what it did for the interns who went through it.

“It was such a rewarding experience for the interns. I know of at least four or five interns that went on to head nonprofits and get into affordable housing and do great things,” Kees said.
