SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) - VooDoo Coffee opened in the Hillcrest Plaza on North Minnesota Avenue three months ago. It's a location owner Shah Afrouzi is familiar with as he also owns the Shop N Cart and Neon Casino.

"I wanted to just be part of the culture of coffee. I love what I've done so far with the VooDoo brand," Afrouzi said. "You know, I have a diverse background -- my mom's Italian, my dad is Turkish -- and I've seen different cultures, I've seen different coffee shops around the world and I just got inspired. I wanted to create a space where people come together."

You can find diversity in the VooDoo products as well, from Cuban coffee to Persian tea.

"Persian tea is a chai, it's very traditional, very traditional. It's different than anything you're used to," Afrouzi said.
