TWO HARBORS, Minn. (Northern News Now) - A new proposed construction project along the north shore is causing concern for people living in Two Harbors.
The two-mile $17 million construction project on Highway 61 through Two Harbors would re-route traffic into a residential neighborhood.
During a public meeting this week, many came out to share their concerns about the heavy traffic during an already busy season.
“They are saying 700 cars an hour, they’re listening to us but they’ve pretty much got their plans in order,” said Two Harbors resident Rose Amesbury. “And I asked this one fellow I said ‘If this doesn’t work with the roundabouts what’s plan B?’ and he said we have none.”
This project is still in the planning phases as construction isn’t expected until 2027.
