ST. LOUIS – Major news emerged out of St. Louis city hall Thursday.

A proposal set to be introduced to the St. Louis Board of Aldermen on Friday would put millions of dollars in Rams NFL settlement money toward helping tornado victims following the devastating May 16 tornado.

The proposal appears to have overwhelming support from the mayor and the board of aldermen.

This would be the first time the city has spent funds from the $277 million settlement reached in 2021. The money would be put toward the city’s Tornado Relief and Recovery Fund.

The bill’s sponsor, Alderman Rasheen Aldridge, says he is hopeful the city will move fast and get the bill to Mayor Cara Spencer’s desk in the coming weeks.
