ELLINGTON, CT. (WFSB) - As the weather has finally turned a corner, motorcycle season here in Connecticut is off to a grim start.

“There’s nothing like wind therapy,” said Norm LeBlanc, Ellington.

He’s been riding for 58 years and is one of many Trantolo and Trantolo employees who ride.

They sponsor several motorcycle rides and meetups across the state.

“Riding defensively. Gotta watch out for other people. You got people with cell phones, people texting, cutting across lanes. You have to be aware of your surroundings at all times,” continued LeBlanc.

That thought process has kept him alive.

According to the Department of Transportation, motorcycle fatalities have drastically increased over the past five years around the month of June.
