SHREVEPORT, La. — The City of Shreveport's Department of Water and Sewerage has issued a voluntary boil advisory for customers along portions of E. Flournoy Lucas Road.

The advisory affects residents from Wallace Lake Road to the Twelve Oaks Subdivision, including Lucien Field Estates, Acadiana Place, and Ellerbe Estates.

The measure was prompted by a loss of system pressure, which happened after a vehicle damaged a backflow preventer in the area. Such pressure drops can increase the risk of contaminants entering the water system, making the water's microbiological quality questionable until confirmed safe through testing.

Effective immediately upon service restoration, affected customers are advised to boil their water for one full minute in a clean container once it reaches a rolling
