KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) - A project to renovate the Kanawha County judicial annex is pushing forward.
Kanawha County commissioners on Thursday night approved the next steps of the project, which includes redoing the first and fifth floors.
Changes to the family court space included adding some additional security and remodeling some of the bathroom spaces.
Commission President Ben Salango said while it has been an inconvenience doing the work during the day, it has saved money and will be worth it in the long run.
“The first floor is going to be a little over $8 million and the fifth floor is going to be a little over $2 million,” Salango said. “So, we went from about 16.2 million to a little over 10 million. We got about five and a half million in savings.”
