OROVILLE, Calif. - Authorities arrested a man in Oroville Wednesday who was endangering the safety of a child while under the influence of drugs.

The Oroville Police Department says that at around 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, dispatch received multiple 911 calls about a man creating a traffic hazard in the area of Greenville Street and Myers Street.

Authorities say the man, identified as 35-year-old Oscar Bonilla, was seen with an infant in the roadway.

Oroville Police says that a preliminary investigation revealed that Bonilla, the father of the child, had removed the child from their residence.

Witnesses reported that Bonilla, who admitted to using a large amount of cocaine, dropped the child on the pavement.
