Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious crash on the M20 . Kent Police were called at just after 3.15pm yesterday (June 5) to the collision on the junction nine slip road, coastbound, near Ashford .

Officers attended the scene alongside the South East Coast Ambulance Service and Kent Fire and Rescue Service where a lorry was found to have left the carriageway. The motorway was closed between J8 and J9 while emergency services were at the scene and has now reopened, police confirmed.

It reopened at around 3.45am this morning (June 6) - around 12 hours later. A Kent Police spokesperson said: "An investigation into the circumstances is underway.
