In a Wake Forest group text chain with many of his former teammates James Johnson was a little jealous.
Two of his former teammates – Jeff Teague and Ish Smith – have their NBA championship rings. Johnson, 38, who is a reserve with the Indiana Pacers, admits it's about time he got his ring.
“Oh, it’s definitely my turn,” Johnson said by phone earlier week this just before the NBA Finals were about to begin.
The Pacers are taking on the Oklahoma City Thunder and it’s Johnson’s first trip to the championship round. Game 1 was played Thursday night in Oklahoma City. Johnson has played on 10 NBA teams since he left Wake Forest after his sophomore season in 2009.
The two teams Johnson played on while in Winston-Salem were stacked. They were coached by Dino Gaudio, 68, who lives i
