STAMFORD, CT (WFSB) - Interstate 95 south in Stamford was closed because of a jackknifed vehicle.
The state Department of Transportation said the crash happened between exits 7 and 6.
The CT DOT first reported it around 3:10 a.m. on Friday.
According to state police, callers indicated that the roadway was extremely slippery, possibly due to a sewage or oil spill from a tanker.
The state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection responded to the scene.
State police said no injuries were reported.
They did not have an estimate for how long the highway would remain closed.
