The two teams playing for that moment of history will be No. 6 Texas and No. 12 Texas Tech.

The Longhorns and Red Raiders are slated for an 8 p.m. ET first pitch in the winner-take-all Game 3 of the WCWS championship series on June 6 in Oklahoma City at Devon Park.

After dropping Game 1 of the championship series on June 4, Texas Tech responded back with a 4-3 victory over Texas on June 5 in front of Patrick Mahomes. In what was a pitchers' duel for the first couple of innings, NiJaree Canady overcame some late-game adversity to record her 34th victory of the season.

Regardless of who wins the winner-take-all Game 3, which is just the seventh ever Game 3 in the history of the WCWS, a first-time national champion will be crowned for the first time since Florida State won in 2018.
