CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - A 20-year-old South Euclid woman was sentenced to life in prison Thursday for killing her mother.
Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas Judge Carl Mazzone said Nia Patterson won’t be eligible for parole until after she serves 18 years.
Patterson fatally shot Angela Bates, 47, at their South Euclid home last year.
Police were called to the house in the 3800 block of Grosvenor Rd. on April 26, 2024 for a report of an unresponsive female.
When they arrived, they found Bates with multiple gunshot wounds.
EMS transported her to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Patterson was taken into custody at the scene.
