There is growing fear among some immigrants about attending their mandatory, routine case hearings.

Lawyers advocating for immigrants say they are seeing firsthand arrests inside federal courthouses carried out by the Trump administration.

Dramatic footage of an arrest inside a federal immigration courthouse at 26 Federal Plaza in Lower Manhattan appears to show plainclothes federal officers arresting a woman. In the video, she can be heard crying out for her child.

Advocates say she was detained, although it is unclear where she is currently being held.

Lawyers and advocates with the New York Legal Assistance Group, or NYLAG, who have been inside the courthouse all week, say they have seen dozens of similar arrests and are concerned that the presence of undercover federal immigration
