KALAMAZOO COUNTY, MI – A local therapeutic horse riding center launched a “Raise the Roof” capital campaign to expand its facilities this week.

The Cheff Therapeutic Riding Center in Augusta is aiming to raise $2.6 million to add a second arena and offer more services than what’s currently possible.

The center currently has a large indoor arena that accommodates classes for up to seven people, said Morgan Meulman, the marketer and fundraiser for the organization.

“We are looking at creating a smaller, more intimate arena that would be much more conducive to one-on-one treatments (for) mental health sessions” where a therapist could work individually with clients, she said.
