KAUFMAN, Texas (KLTV) - Documents reveal a man who was the subject of a nearly month-long manhunt in Kaufman County allegedly threatened men working at a neighboring property at gunpoint several times. Eventually, he fatally shot his neighbor, authorities claim.

Trevor Rhea McEuen, 32, was due in court on May 5 for the 2023 murder of Aaron Martinez, 35, according to a sheriff’s office release. McEuen did not show; he instead took off his ankle monitor and left his home. When authorities arrived at his address to attempt to find him, they said they found the house on fire. Although they found cell phones and other evidence, McEuen was gone, leading authorities on a manhunt beginning east of Grand Saline that would last nearly a month.
