SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - We are temporarily drying out this morning with temperatures starting out in the 70s.

We’ll warm to the 80s by lunchtime with highs near 90 degrees. It’ll be a warm afternoon with heat index values near 100 degrees. Spotty showers and isolated storms will be possible late this afternoon with brief gusty wind being the main threat. Most of us will remain dry, not impacting many of our Friday evening plans!

Saturday is a First Alert Weather Day .

The first part of our day will remain quiet, so don’t cancel your plans if they are before midafternoon! Ahead of the storms, highs will be in the mid 90s with heat index values in the lower triple digits. Scattered showers and storms will once again develop during the afternoon.
