Ten years to the day have passed since I lost my beautiful daughter, Victoria, to an accidental drug overdose at the age of 18 — but the grief and sorrow remain as deep as ever. The short years of Victoria’s life are etched in my heart forever. Her smile that could lift anyone’s spirit, the way she doted on her six younger siblings, her innate artistic talent, and her love for her cherished rescue dog, Zen. Victoria is missed every day by her family and friends. I find comfort and strength in knowing that her legacy is that because of her death, many more people will live.
