Could that be snow?

Yep, definitely looked like snow. It wasn’t coming down particularly flaky, more like little pellets, but yeah, that was snow.

I hadn’t actually checked the forecast for the mountains when I’d left the house that morning. The sun was just rising and I wanted to get out of town quickly in hopes of catching the first light on the mountains so I just started rolling. Clouds abounded, especially to the north and east, but I was hoping the light might find a way through.

It did but not until well after sunrise. By then I was in the hills west of Millarville, rattling through the Threepoint Creek valley.
