LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) -- Wildfire smoke continues to reduce air quality across Mid-Michigan. Air Quality Alerts remain in effect for our area through this afternoon, with air quality expected to be at unhealthy levels for sensitive groups throughout the first half of the day.
The National Weather Service advises those who suffer from heart disease and respiratory diseases like asthma to avoid strenuous outdoor activities.
They also advise people to reduce or eliminate activities that could contribute to air pollution, such as outdoor burning, and or using residential wood burning devices.
Wildfire smoke is expected to exit the region this afternoon and evening, allowing our air quality to improve as we move into the weekend.
