PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Rhode Islanders will learn Friday how long it will take to build a replacement to the Washington Bridge and how much it’s going to cost.

Governor Dan McKee will announce the two finalists who secured the contract for the new bridge .

The two finalists, chosen as part of the bidding process in December, were American Bridge Company out of San Francisco, which would partner with MLJ Corporation on the project, and Walsh Construction Company, based out of Chicago.

Walsh Construction worked on a bridge on I-195 in New Haven, Connecticut and the Whittier Bridge in Massachusetts.

McKee’s announcement is at 10 a.m. Friday.
