TOWN OF POUGHKEEPSIE – A domestic incident on Fair Oaks Drive in the Town of Poughkeepsie on Thursday afternoon has left one man dead and two other people injured. The incident at 8 Fair Oaks Drive began around 2:15 p.m. when a man in the home called the MHA Dutchess Mobile Crisis Team for a reportedly emotionally disturbed adult autistic man having an “episode.” That man was armed with a sword and slashed a member of the mobile crisis team, resulting in a laceration to the worker’s hand.

Town of Poughkeepsie Police responded to the address after the son’s mother called 911 to report an active assault, according to a Mid-Hudson News source.

When police arrived, they encountered two men at the residence, presumably the father and son. The father had sustained a head injury.
