CLEAR LAKE—The Newman Catholic Knights and Clear Lake Lions battled in two completely different games on Thursday evening.

Clear Lake hosted Newman in a clash of two area teams in a doubleheader. The Knights dominated the first game 9-0 behind stellar pitching and strong hitting performances. The second game saw the Lions overwhelm their opponents and capitalized on their errors, winning 8-6 in a game that was stopped in the fifth inning due to rainy conditions.
