Disney’s live-action “Lilo & Stitch” and Tom Cruise’s “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning” dominated the U.K. and Ireland box office in May, driving the market to a robust £109.1 million ($147.7 million) total that represents a 50% increase over the same period last year, according to Comscore.
The reboot claimed the top spot with $37.4 million after just two weeks in theaters, already surpassing the $17.7 million lifetime total of the original 2002 animated film. The performance makes it the third-highest grossing release of 2025 in the territory, trailing only “A Minecraft Movie” ($76.4 million) and “Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy” ($62.7 million).
