Brenden Aaronson has made the USA squad for this summer’s home Gold Cup tournament, having been snubbed by Mauricio Pochettino in March.
The Leeds United midfielder was omitted from the roster that competed in the Concacaf Nations League semi-finals three months ago due to poor form. Aaronson scored two goals and registered no assists in 22 games for Leeds after the turn of the new year.
The 24-year-old had been included in Pochettino’s summer training camp prior to the boss making final decisions over Gold Cup squad selection - and he has made the cut for the home tournament, alongside his younger brother, Paxten.
