Springfield Pride Parade Committee expands Pride festivities to support the youth

It kicks off on the Fourth of July in East Longmeadow, right before the annual parade.

$5,400 in prizes will be given out to racers, including prizes for the most patriotic runner. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the East Longmeadow Educational Endowment Fund. They put on the road race every year.

"We're looking for competitive runners; they can then take that time and certify it for other races, marathons, and we're just looking for a beautiful day with lots of people ready to be patriotic and run," says Bonnie Rivera.
