The state Senate cleared Wednesday bipartisan legislation that aims to lower some healthcare costs for North Carolinians while increasing pricing transparency from hospitals and providers.
The Senate cleared by a 42-3 vote House Bill 434 , which is almost a carbon copy of Senate Bill 316 .
HB434 returns to the House for approval of significant changes made by the Senate. The House has not addressed SB316 since receiving the bill April 1.
House Republican leadership has tended to be more supportive of healthcare innovation legislation in recent sessions, including the state’s Medicaid expansion bill.
