BAXTER, Tenn. (WSMV) - Deputies in Putnam County apprehended two escaped inmates from East Tennessee on Thursday, according to the sheriff’s office.

The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office said deputies found an abandoned van at Odd Fellows Cemetery near Buffalo Valley Road on Tuesday. Further investigation revealed the vehicle had been stolen in Morgan County and was registered to the Morgan County Residential Recovery Court (MCRRC).

PCSO then began communicating with authorities in Morgan County and discovered that two inmates, identified as Jeffery Brindly and Robert Syverson, had escaped from MCRRC on Monday.
