DUBUQUE, Iowa (KCRG) - Three men are facing charges after Dubuque Police say they forced open an ATM and stole $33,600.

Christian Canas-Gomez, Ysmael Martinez-Jimenez, and Jhonger Suarez are each charged with Criminal Mischief, Ongoing Criminal Conduct, and Theft.

Court documents show officers were called to Fidelity Bank & Trust on Cedar Cross Road the morning of May 27 for a report that an ATM was being tampered with.

An investigation revealed the ATM had been forced open through a crime known as ‘jackpotting’ - when thieves exploit an ATM’s physical and software vulnerabilities to get cash to dispense.

Dubuque Police video footage from the bank showed Martinez-Jimenez and Canas-Gomez tampering with the ATM, resulting in them taking $33,600 in cash. Police say Suarez was paid to be a
